This project is our approach to deal with times we have never experienced before in a way we have never worked before. In these challenging days of social distance, global crisis and mental disquiet we've been looking for a way to contribute to peoples well being. We decided to switch our medium from physical matter to something that feels like acoustic architecture.

THIS PROJECT AIMS TO EXPAND OUR MENTAL ABILITIES.

In collaboration with close friends from various artistic fields we curated playlists for mental journeys to non-physical spaces. Film directors, painters, designers, music producers, architects and photographers - they all helped us creating borderless and conceptual escapes for a few hours of fade and focus. This project aims to expand our mental abilities and summon up energy from our inner source. 

Charly is a multidimensional creative mind whose passion for spacial design and interiors is as big as his adoration for the Amalfi Coast, his palm tree garden and vinyl records from spaghetti western to balearic disco 80's sound. We couldn't think of someone more passionate and thoughtful for curating our first Acoustic Rooms playlist.

"Where rivers run uphill" is a collage of soft and mindful Mediterranean sounds, atmospheric low-fi trance and almost dreamy classical movie themes. Best enjoyed sinking into your sofa with lights off and mind open or while walking the woods in the excessively early morning hours catching the very first blissful sunlight. 

For Alexis music has always been a vehicle for letting people take part in his very personal understanding of contemporary aesthetics and culture. Although his take on music is highly sensitive, academic and almost analytic his productions for national artists run the charts like they were candy floss. His sense for composing and harmony combines severity, intensity and a very dynamic strength.

For his Acoustic Rooms playlist Alexis takes us on a journey that almost feels like you being the main character in a somehow spheric and disturbing dystopian movie. It is intense and challenging but with balancing and floating intervals. It touches ancient choral singings as well as almost dancey electronica and abstract soundscapes.

Nike is pure positive energy. Working as an actress since she was a little kid she started expanding her creative outlets as a teenager. Today Nike is creative directing film, photo and design productions touching a brought field of media and subjects. Her handwriting is dreamy and analog, pure and feminin, always appealing and never not telling a story.

Today we ask Nike to translate her energy into a playlist that displays her state of mind. "This whole global situation felt yet feels like a mental journey through my own emotional constitution. It feels like traveling through inner seasons that change as they appear." For the Acoustic Rooms project Nike assembled a variety of tracks that make us time-travel through her inner seasons and beyond. 

Obviously we couldn't resist participating in this ourselves and provide some insides into our understanding for acoustic and mental travels. Since music is key to our collaborative studio practice but at the same time something deeply personal we decided to curate one playlist each. Enjoy the ride.
